AI assistant (MCP)
Let Claude, Cursor or Copilot drive real phones and browsers, and read your Automate runs.
The TestKase Device Farm MCP server (@testkase/device-farm-mcp) lets your AI assistant open a real phone or browser in the farm, tap and type on it, and look into your Automate runs. It works with Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and any MCP client.
For test cases, cycles and reports, use the Test Management MCP server too.
Set it up
- Create an access key: Profile → API Keys. It starts with
xyz_. See Managing API Keys. - Add the server to your assistant.
In Claude Code, run this once in your terminal. Put your key in place of <key> yourself. Never paste it into the chat.
claude mcp add testkase-device-farm -e TESTKASE_PAT_TOKEN=<key> -- npx -y @testkase/device-farm-mcpClaude Desktop, Cursor and GitHub Copilot use the same command in their MCP config file:
{
"mcpServers": {
"testkase-device-farm": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@testkase/device-farm-mcp"],
"env": { "TESTKASE_PAT_TOKEN": "xyz_your_key" }
}
}
}- Restart your assistant and ask, for example:
- "Open saucedemo.com in Chrome on Windows and log in as standard_user."
- "Open our app on an Android phone and check the sign-up screen."
- "Why did my last Chrome run fail?"
What it can do
| Drive a device | Open a phone (an uploaded app or a web page) or a browser, read the screen, tap, type, swipe, press keys, take a screenshot. |
| Read your runs | List your Automate runs, their tests, commands, logs, video and screenshots, and explain why a run failed. |
| Set up your tests | Give the hub URL and capabilities for Selenium, Appium or Playwright, upload app builds, check your Local Tunnel. |
The assistant sees the screen as a numbered list ("5. button Login"), so it acts by number. After each action it gets only what changed.
Good to know
- One device at a time. A session ends after about 3 minutes without a command, or 60 minutes in total. It uses your Automate minutes.
- Use test accounts. What the assistant types can appear in the run's log and video.
- Your key stays on your computer. It acts as you: the assistant sees your own runs and apps.
