Product Access
Control which products each team member can access.
TestKase offers five products, and each team member can be granted access to any of them.

How Product Access Works
For Organization Owners
- Always have access to all products
- Cannot be restricted
For Organization Admins
- Always have access to all products (automatically assigned when promoted to Admin)
- Cannot be restricted
For Members
- Product access is assigned when inviting or editing the user
- Can have access to any mix of the five products (e.g. Live only, Automate + TMT, all five)
- Products they don't have access to appear grayed out in the Product Sidebar
Managing Product Access
During Invitation
When inviting a new user:
- Select their org role (Admin or Member)
- If Admin → all products auto-selected and locked
- If Member → check the products you want to grant
For Existing Users
- Go to Organization → Members
- Click the edit icon on a user
- Toggle products on/off
- Save changes
Who can change product access
Only the organization Owner or an organization Admin can grant or revoke product access. Anyone else is refused with "Only owners or admins can update product access".
Granting Test Management to a member consumes a seat. Test Management is the only seat-based product, and a member holding it counts against your seat quota exactly as a pending invitation does. If the quota is already full, the save is refused with "No Test Management seats remaining. Please purchase more seats before granting Test Management access." Switching Test Management back off for that member returns the seat. Automate, Live, Accessibility Testing and Visual consume no seats.
The member is told
Every save that adds or removes a product emails the affected member, listing what they gained and what they lost. One email per save — nothing is sent for a save that changes nothing, and nothing is sent when you edit your own access.
What Happens Without Access
If a user doesn't have access to a product:
- The product appears grayed out in the Product Sidebar
- Hovering shows "Contact your admin to get access"
- They cannot navigate to that product's pages
Product access controls sidebar visibility — which products a user sees and can navigate to. It is not the same thing as your subscription. Paid features are gated server-side against the organization's subscription on every product, so granting someone product access does not let them use capacity you have not paid for, and revoking it is not the mechanism that enforces your plan.
