Network, location & VPN
Throttle the session's network, override GPS coordinates, and route traffic through a different exit IP.
Three Live tools change what the device or browser sees of the outside world: the network it's on, the GPS position it reports, and the public IP its traffic comes from.
Each one is a control on the session toolbar, offered wherever the session supports it.
Network throttling
Switch the session's network between Wi-Fi, 4G, 3G, 2G, and offline, and change it mid-session — so you can load a page on Wi-Fi, drop to 3G, and watch what your app does.
Each profile is a fixed shape, applied symmetrically in both directions. The picker shows the same numbers:
| Profile | Bandwidth | Round-trip latency |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi | No throttling | — |
| 4G | 5 Mbit/s | 80 ms |
| 3G | 384 kbit/s | 300 ms |
| 2G | 50 kbit/s | 500 ms |
| Offline | No connectivity | — |
GPS location override
Set the coordinates the session reports, and change them mid-session. Use it for region-locked content, maps, delivery and ride flows, and geofencing — without physically moving anything.
VPN exit IP
Route the session's traffic out through a different exit IP, so the site under test sees the request arriving from somewhere else. Useful for geo-routing, IP-based access rules, and CDN behaviour.
On a phone the VPN is device-wide — the browser, your uploaded app, and every other app on the handset all exit from the country you pick.
Choosing the right tool
| You want the app to believe… | Use |
|---|---|
| It's on a slow or absent connection | Network throttling |
| It's physically somewhere else | GPS location override |
| The request is coming from somewhere else | VPN exit IP |
Session limits
How long a Live session runs, how to extend it, what ends it early, and how minutes are counted against your plan.
Test a site on your own machine
Reach localhost, a private staging server, or anything behind your firewall from a cloud browser or a real phone — using the TestKase tunnel client.
