Reference

Supported browsers and devices at a glance, plan limits and free minutes, the errors you might see, and a short troubleshooting list for Live.

A quick-reference for Live — what's supported, what your plan includes, and how to resolve common issues.

Supported browsers

BrowsermacOSWindows
ChromeYesYes
EdgeYesYes
FirefoxYesYes
SafariYes—

Desktop browsers run in macOS and Windows virtual machines on our own hardware — a real browser on a real operating system, not a rendering emulation. Exact browser versions and resolutions are shown in the picker when you start a session, and each session's toolbar offers the tools that session supports.

Supported devices

TypePlatform
PhonesReal iPhones (iOS) and real Android phones
TabletsReal Android tablets
Mobile browsersSafari and Chrome on a real iPhone; Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera on a real Android

Phones and tablets are real physical hardware unless you flip the picker's Virtual device switch — see Virtual devices. Every device is cleaned completely before it is handed to the next user.

The fleet is shared across customer organizations and changes over time; the picker shows which devices are available and which are currently busy. These docs list device categories rather than named models on purpose.

Session length

Live sessions start with a 30-minute clock and extend in 15-minute steps up to your plan's ceiling. On the free allowance the clock is your remaining free minutes when that is under 30, and free sessions cannot be extended. Refreshing the page ends the session. See Session limits for the full picture.

Plans, minutes, and limits

Live and Automate are subscribed separately, and a single Live plan unlocks both mobile and browser sessions.

FreePaid
Free minutes15 minutes, one-time lifetime pool—
Minute capApplies (15-minute lifetime)No minute cap
Parallel sessionsAs many as your remaining minutes coverThe number of threads you've purchased — 1–20 self-serve, higher by enterprise agreement
Maximum session length30 minutes, or your remaining free minutes if fewer4 hours
Mobile + browserBoth, sharing one allowanceBoth

The free allowance is a lifetime pool of 15 minutes shared across all your Live sessions (mobile and browser) — it does not reset each month. It's keyed to the organization owner's email address, not to the organization itself, so you get 15 free Live minutes per product, once.

Live minutes are separate from Automate minutes. Buying Live doesn't consume or unlock Automate, and vice versa — each product has its own allowance.

Parallel sessions

On a paid plan, parallel sessions are threads you purchase, between 1 and 20 on a self-serve plan; an enterprise agreement can go higher. The cap is shared across Live Mobile and Live Browser — a phone session and a browser session both consume a thread from the same pool.

Errors you might see

ErrorWhat it meansWhat to do
"All servers for this configuration are busy right now."The fleet is fully occupied for the browser, OS, or device you picked.Try a different configuration, or wait and retry.
"Servers temporarily unreachable. Try again in a few minutes."A fleet-side problem — not your network or your connection.Wait a few minutes and retry. Nothing to fix on your side.
"That device is busy — another session just took it."Someone claimed that phone between the picker refreshing and you pressing Start.Try again shortly, or pick another device.
"That device isn't available right now."The phone left the pool after the picker refreshed.Try again shortly, or pick another device.
"That server is no longer available. Please start the session again."The machine holding your session went away mid-start.Start the session again; you'll land on a different machine.
"Session length cap reached for your tier (4h max)."An extend would take the session past your plan's ceiling.End it and start a new one. The ceiling is the same on every paid plan, Enterprise included.
Concurrency limitYou're already at your plan's parallel session limit.End a running session, or add threads.
No active subscriptionThere's no active Live plan on the account.Start a Live subscription, or use your free lifetime minutes.

Troubleshooting

ProblemLikely cause & fix
The device or browser I want is greyed outIt's already in another session, still being prepared after a previous one, or offline. Wait, or let the picker auto-select.
No sound from the deviceThe stream starts muted by design — click the audio button.
My recording has no soundRecordings are video only. The live stream carries audio; the recorded file doesn't.
My earlier recording disappearedOnly one recording survives per Live session; a new one replaces the previous. Download each before recording again.
My session ended when I reloadedRefreshing the page ends a Live session by design. See Session limits.
Can't start a session — out of minutesYou've used your free lifetime allowance. Upgrade to a paid Live plan to remove the minute cap.
Can't start a second session at onceYou're at your plan's thread count — up to 20 on a self-serve plan, higher by enterprise agreement, shared across mobile and browser.
My uploaded app won't installCheck the file type — iOS needs an .ipa, Android an .apk — and that it matches the device platform. You can't upload an app from the App Store; use a development or ad-hoc build.
The App Store wants an Apple IDThat's expected — the store install opens the real App Store on the device and you sign in with your own account. Use a throwaway one. Uploading an .ipa needs no Apple ID at all.
My upload was refused as too largeAn .ipa or .apk is capped at 500 MB. A file pushed with Files & media is capped at 50 MB on a phone, or 15 MB (and 5 files) in a browser session.
The app I installed last time is goneExpected. The build is uninstalled at session end and reinstalled fresh from My apps next time; nothing it stored carries over.
Android snaps back to portraitThe Android home screen is portrait-only, so a landscape session reverts on the home screen and restores landscape when an app returns to the front.
