Defects

Connect one bug tracker for the organization and file a bug in one click from a Live session, an Automate result or an Accessibility issue.

Overview

Organization → Integrations → Defects connects one bug tracker — TestKase's own defects, Jira, GitHub Issues, GitLab Issues or Azure Boards — and adds a Report a bug button across Live, Automate and Accessibility. One click creates a real ticket with the screenshot, the device and a link back to the session already filled in.

Where the button is

ProductWhereWhat's pre-filled
LiveThe left rail, next to ScreenshotA fresh screenshot, device model, OS, browser, resolution, session link
Automate — test result pageThe header, next to HistoryBuild name, test name, status, the error text, duration, device, links to the video and logs
Automate — history listThe bug icon on a rowBuild, test, status, duration, device, session link
Accessibility — issue panelThe bug icon next to CloseThe rule, its impact, the element selector, the page URL, the failure summary

The dialog pre-fills the title and description; you can edit both before filing. When the ticket is created you get a link to it.

Connect a tracker

Each tracker has its own page:

Connecting is always two steps: Connect with the tool's token, then choose the default destination (project, repository, board). Everyone in the organization files into that destination.

An organization has one bug tracker. Once one is connected the other cards dim; use ⋮ → Reset on the connected card to switch. A project-management tool can be connected alongside it — the dialog then lets you choose which one a report goes to.

Screenshots

The screenshot is attached to the ticket for TestKase, Jira, GitLab and Azure Boards. GitHub Issues has no attachment API, so GitHub tickets carry the session link instead and the dialog says so before you file. If an attachment fails for any reason (a full storage quota, a file too large for the tracker), the ticket is still filed — a ticket without its picture beats no ticket.

Test Management defects

Test Management projects keep their own defect integration in the project's Settings → Defect integration — that's where test cases link to issues. See Test Management → Integrations.
