Slack
Get a Slack Incoming Webhook URL and connect it so Live, Automate and Accessibility post cards to a channel.
Before you start
You need a Slack workspace where you're allowed to add apps. Any plan works, including the free one.
The value TestKase needs is the Incoming Webhook URL (https://hooks.slack.com/services/…). It is not the Bot token (xoxb-…), the App token (xapp-…), the Signing secret, or the channel's web address (https://app.slack.com/client/…). Pasting any of those saves without error and never delivers.
Get the webhook URL from Slack
- Go to api.slack.com/apps and click Create New App → From scratch. Name it (for example TestKase), pick your workspace, click Create App.
- In the app's left menu, under Features, click Incoming Webhooks.
- Switch Activate Incoming Webhooks to On.
- Scroll down and click Add New Webhook to Workspace. Choose the channel that should receive the cards and click Allow.
- Copy the URL that appears in the Webhook URLs for Your Workspace table. It starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
Connect it in TestKase
- Open Organization → Integrations → Notifications and click Connect on the Slack card.
- Enter a name, paste the webhook URL, choose the events, and save.
Test it
Start a Live session and click End. Within a few seconds the channel receives a Live session ended card. If nothing arrives, see below.
Troubleshooting
▶Card shows "Connected", nothing ever arrives
The URL is a Slack page address or a token, not a webhook.
Fix: ⋮ → Reset, then connect with the hooks.slack.com URL.
▶Cards arrive for scans but not for Live sessions
The rule was created after those sessions ended.
Fix: Run a new session — rules only apply to events after they exist.
▶Messages stop after the app is removed from the channel
Slack revoked the webhook.
Fix: Re-add the app to the channel and connect the new URL.
